Doing it Anyway

I do not want to write this blog post.  I am forcing myself to do it anyway.  Because I think that, at some point, it could help me.  And it might help someone else.

I ran today and, to make a 12-mile story short, my pain was back to its typical nature.  Right side for about 6 miles, and then the left side joined in.  By 10 miles, I was forced to stop given knife-like pain in my left.  When the left gets bad, it gets very, very bad.  I did finish the last two miles, but was miserable in doing so.  I arrived back home completely defeated.  Dr. Kaeser had told me that if the treatment he was doing worked, then it should not be a "one step forward, two steps back" type of thing.  On Tuesday, I didn't have the left-sided pain.  I did today, and the right side was back to its usual level.

I believe that Dr. Kaeser's diagnoses of me are correct.  I believe that because I had a great deal of pain when he pressed on particular spots/nerves.  One thing of note is that this pain, when I press on the areas that hurt while I'm running, greatly diminishes.  So, if I brace it, it gets better. That makes me think these are adhesions pulling on something in there.  What he did with his hands obviously didn't get rid of them.  I'm not sure what to do next.

  1. Think of it this way... if you skinned your knee, it would hurt when you moved it. You could put your finger on the scab later, bust it up, then running wouldn't be too painful - that time. Then the next day you could run again, and VOILA! Pain is back!

P.S. The verification word for this post was "SITHTER". I kid you not, lisp for "SISTER"!
